Yet Another Life Changing Moment by Cham

Greetings people of the BLOGOSPHERE!!  Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Cham Nou and I have been working with Project Ethos since 2008.  The beginning stages of my journey at the company, I started off as an intern that worked closely with the executive director, Jason Peskin.  He gave me my first shot at what it took to put in hard hours of dedication.  He taught me preparation, dedication, and execution day and night of the show.  This was such a valuable learning process. It taught me how to really indulge myself in my workload and keep up beat about any type of situation.  The company has provided me with knowledge, inspiration, and life changing experiences day in and day out and continues to affect my life in ways I could never imagine.
On my first show, I found myself driving around LMFAO through Hollywood searching for a keyboard synthesizer right before the show.  We went in and out of stores to try and find a specific keyboard but no luck.  After a couple hours have passed, Sky Blue, one of the members of LMFAO, realized that he had a spare keyboard in the back of his closet.  After resolving that issue with these interesting characters, I took a mental step back and realized that I was partaking in industry work.  I actually played a dramatic role within one of the key aspects of the show.  Knowing this was such an amazing feeling as an intern.  That’s just one of the many experiences and life memorable moments at Project Ethos that has influenced me.
Another story would be that Project Ethos landed me an internship at Android Homme (www.androidhomme.com), a high-end luxury shoe company.  Android Homme has been in business for two years and have been getting product placements for A list music celebrities such as: Usher, Trey Songz, Miguel, P. Diddy, Kid Cudi, just to name a few.  While working for Android Homme part time, the company receives news that Usher wanted Android to style and design looks for a few shows that he was doing in the west coast.  The company was excited for the new challenges that were going to take place.
As for me, my involvement with the Usher shows started off with just a few easy deliveries for the shows, a few pickups here and there...  Then the next thing I know I was backstage at the MTV VMAs having conversations with Usher and fitting him in exclusive designs made specially for Usher.  After that we hit The Jimmy Kimmel show, America’s Got Talent, and Ellen.  The aftermath of these successful shows came down to Usher asking Android Homme to design for his “OMG World Tour.”  This is when my jaw literally dropped to the ground.  It was a dream come true.  To be able to work with a musical legend of his caliber and I have Project Ethos to thank for this opportunity.
To add to yet another life altering opportunity, Project Ethos was in need of a host for its show in San Diego on August 26th 2010.  Talks of getting celebrities to host the event was in the works but Project Ethos decided to keep it in house and ask yours truly to host the event…  When I heard this news, I was in an awe of excitement.  I was literally screaming for joy.  It’s like landing an international commercial with your face on billboards.
As the host of Project Ethos, I received a script that was given to me prior to the show that I was working on and rehearsing with.  When the day of the show came about I used the script as a platform for my true self to come out and perform.  This gave me the ability to guide the show for our audience and keep them in tune throughout the evening.  When the show came to an end I felt such a great uplifting feeling to be able to be on stage and perform in front of everyone.  That is one of the feelings that I shall cherish forever.
These moments of life are what I live for.  This is why I am still here from day one.  The dedication and the passion for this project just get increased.  Now, this LA based company shall be in new markets within the near future.  Meaning, new adventures, new people, and much more opportunities for others lives to feel the power of Project Ethos.  This is the dream job.

I thank you for your interests with our company.  Please stay tuned, as we will be supplying you with weekly blog updates, interviews of industry decision makers, and a plentitude of opportunities to participate and join the Project Ethos movement.  Until next time world...

PROJECT ETHOS is coming soon, to a city near you!!!!!!!!

San Diego: Project Ethos Eve

by Jen Prudhome | Fashion Coordinator

On Ethos Eve we can always plan to expect the unexpected. We had a solid production meeting and walk through this past weekend with the featured San Diego Designers /Collections (Garden Party, Organic Planet, Stacie May, Arka, Eco-Panda, Fortune 421, Gogo, and Haus of Estrada). It was my first trip to the On Broadway Event Center (OBEC), and I left the building with so much anticipation of what the Ethos experience will be in such an amazing venue. The gorgeous 1920s inspired restaurant area with mod décor will house our fabulous runway while an old bank district vault will be social refuge for San Diego’s VIP. Not to mention a wonderful Tibetan style lounge area for event goers.

The production meeting was a great opportunity for our team to discuss some of the amazing things that happened during Project Ethos’ previous show at the Music Box in Hollywood, but the afternoon’s primary focus was familiarize ourselves with OBEC. We want to bring the same energy, vibe, and amazement from Hollywood into San Diego without a hitch. It will undoubtedly be unforgettable evening as amazing talent utilize the Project Ethos platform to make their mark. Today is the calm before the storm. We will go into OBEC with the same vision and enthusiasm as previous venues only to leave with event goers now knowing why we wanted to bring what we do in Hollywood to San Diego. SD, we’re coming for you…

Hello 2010!!! Ok its already February. That's how crazy its been! We started the year off right with a charity benefit for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles that was awesome. Thanks to an amazing team at LoveCuresCancer.com and everyone at the smoking hot Voyeur in West Hollywood. You can't ask for much more and when you see Scott Warren our Music Director with a drink in his hand in deep thought / pure bliss you feel extra accomplished lol. No really we will have numbers on what we raised soon.

Now on to LA Fashion Week.... with our Project Runway contestants Gordana and Jesus along with 8 other AMAZING designers, 12 visual artists, DJs and bands. You can see some of them on our participants page now... (go to our website and click on "Participants"). Not all are up yet. We also have ticket info and our press release up. Explore the site.

We are so excited to have an amazing lineup and I sat down with Gordana and Jesus yesterday at their boutique in downtown San Diego. What great people - pure artists with so much passion. Music has been a bit tough with a huge festival in Austin the same weekend as fashion week... but we will pull off a miracle with local talent soon. MORE TBA woohooooooo!!!

What a Year

by Jason | Executive Director

This year was absolutely the most momentous year in the history of Project Ethos. We went from 2 big events in one year to 4, one being at the House of Blues Sunset Strip. We produced another 4 private showcases at one of the most beautiful venues in Hollywood. To top it off, we helped launch a great charity Love Cures Cancer.

It was intense and challenging but we always kept in mind what the purpose was:

To actually help our participants.

Why are we so passionate about this?

We work so hard fighting tooth and nail for our artists. Its not just said in our promos and literature… it is SHOWN on the cover of CA Apparel News and the pages of 944 Magazine. Its manifested by our designers being placed in stores, our artists selling dozens of paintings and our bands having meetings with labels and publishers in the green room.

Thank you to all of the participants, team, family, and friends that were a part of this year’s progress. We appreciate where we are and feel grateful to do what we do. We look forward to another bigger and better year in 2010 launching two new markets: San Diego and San Francisco. See you next year.

Ethos XI Model Call: Day 1

by Jen Prudhome | Fashion Coordinator

Today concludes the first of two model auditions for Project Ethos XI. I was beyond pleased with the turn-out as a line of eager models flood out the entrance of the House of Blues, Sunset Strip. There were a few familiar faces from past Ethos runway shows in addition to fresh faces curious of what the Ethos experience entails.

As a past fashion designer participant in the fourth Ethos productions known as “Outrageously Ripe” I took the exposure for my models involved in the show just as serious as my own involvement. After my collection was featured, model Sabrina Aryadad was scouted from the Ethos stage for America’s Next top Model Cycle 10 and cast to be a part of the show. Sabrina and I were overjoyed with the opportunity presented to her.

Today I saw the same hunger and determination from models that appeared at the door of our casting. Without a doubt, we saw the best model talent in our production history today. Only twenty-eight models will be involved in the show but each of them will have an opportunity to realize their dreams on the Ethos stage as 1000 event goers will have their eyes fixed on fashion worn by some of the best undiscovered talent in the modeling industry.

Next Generation

by Jason | Executive Director

As I sit here and promote the model casting this Saturday, I think about our future and what Team Ethos is really building here. Many don't realize we think way beyond fashion, music and art...

Who are the next volunteers or donors for good causes? Who makes up the next generation of people that will tackle tough issues we face? Who is next in line to care for those that are helpless in this world?

Our youth.

The young people of the world will inherit the many struggles our elders are dealing with now. One of which is the fight to raise money for humanitarian efforts or charitable causes.

What type of youth possesses the most potent of leader qualities?

The one’s that create.

The logic behind this statement is that these creators are not afraid to step out in front of the trends and followers to establish their own ideas. Whether it is artists, entrepreneurs, bloggers, or any form of creative expression – it takes courage to manifest your own original ideas.

On top of that, the friends and networks that surround these creators are often potent as well. This is due to the fact that they need to be open to new ideas such as the ones their friends are pushing. These networks that surround the creators attend the concerts, art exhibitions and everything their friend invites them to in order to support their original ideas.

These groups are the people that need to be aware of the struggles we face NOW. We must instill the idea that people need to get involved in humanitarian efforts not by writing a check at age 60, but by getting involved NOW. At least being aware.

Project Ethos is the right channel to reach these next generation of givers and we need to set a trend of giving back at a young age. If the trendsetters do it, maybe we can start a new movement.

Ok back to the seed level of our work. Model Casting for the fashion show at Project Ethos House of Blues :p
